Leset Founder Lili Chemla Designs All Her Bridal Looks for Intimate Beach Wedding in Mexico

Lili Chemla, the founder of fashion label Leset, brought her signature minimalist aesthetic to life in a series of custom bridal outfits she designed herself for her recent wedding to Hernando “Nando” Courtright. The couple, who met on Hinge in 2022, tied the knot in a stylish, three-day celebration on the beaches of Jalisco, Mexico, in January 2025.

The wedding was the culmination of a romance that began with an algorithm and led to a proposal in St. Barths, where Nando popped the question during a family vacation. “Like everything Nando does, it was planned perfectly,” Chemla said of the engagement.

Despite initial reservations about the stress of planning, Chemla credited the couple’s clarity of vision—and the guidance of wedding planner Jeronimo Gaxiola—for a smooth and joyful experience. “I’ve seen how the planning process can take over and I wanted to avoid that,” she said. “Nando and I are both decisive people, and our planner understood exactly what we wanted.”

True to her brand’s ethos of “comfort meets style,” Chemla created bespoke looks for each part of the wedding weekend:

Welcome Dinner: For the opening night’s festivities—highlighted by humor-filled speeches that she joked could have been “Oscar-nominated comedies”—she wore a sleek, cowl-back dress.

Beach Barbecue: The following evening featured a casual celebration on the sand, where the seating was sculpted from the beach itself. Chemla wore a hand-embroidered set adorned with organza flowers made in Paris, embracing the event’s relaxed yet artistic vibe.

Ceremony: On the big day, Chemla walked down the aisle in a minimalist, three-layer silk gown with a triple organza outer layer. The dress, which had raw edges and no buttons or zippers, reflected her desire for a style that was both refined and natural. She completed the look with borrowed earrings from her mother, honoring a traditional “something borrowed.” Nando awaited her on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific, wearing a navy Armani suit.

Chemla’s sister, Alison, and Nando’s best friend, Alex, officiated the ceremony, which took place with a sweeping view of the ocean. “There were laughs, tears, and a beautiful view,” Chemla recalled. “I felt completely calm and at ease.”

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for dinner at a custom infinity-shaped table decorated with moody tapered candles and lush greenery inspired by the surrounding jungle. A live band—dressed in matching Leset pajamas—set the tone for a reception that quickly evolved into an all-night dance party, complete with a red dance floor and disco ball.

For the evening celebration, Chemla changed into a hand-embroidered sequin mini dress made in Italy, designed to sparkle on the dance floor as the festivities continued late into the night.

Reflecting on her wedding months later, Chemla expressed nothing but satisfaction. “I wouldn’t change a thing,” she said.

Her seamless fusion of personal style, meaningful details, and relaxed elegance turned her wedding into a true extension of the Leset brand—modern, understated, and unforgettable.
