Longtime Dancing with the Stars professional Lindsay Arnold has addressed growing fan curiosity over the absence of her engagement ring in recent appearances, explaining the personal and sentimental reasons behind the change.
In a TikTok video posted earlier this month, the 31-year-old dancer revealed that the decision stemmed from damage to the ring’s setting and a desire to repurpose the original diamond into a meaningful family heirloom.
“About three and a half months ago, two of the prongs on my main diamond… broke off,” Arnold shared. “I wanted to take the diamond and turn it into a pendant necklace. I’ll wear it for now, and then we’ll pass it down to the girls.”
Arnold and her husband, Sam Cusick, share two young daughters—Sage and June. The couple, who wed on June 18, 2015, are approaching a milestone: their 10th wedding anniversary.
Arnold explained that the damage to the ring simply accelerated a plan she and her husband had already discussed.
“Sam and I are coming up on 10 years of marriage,” she said. “We’ve always kind of talked about doing an engagement ring upgrade at 10 years. So when the prongs broke, we thought, ‘This is the perfect time to start designing the new ring.’”
She emphasized that there was nothing wrong with the original diamond and that it held significant sentimental value. However, she viewed the anniversary upgrade as a fun way to mark a decade of marriage and personal growth.
Arnold also noted that she’s already completed the design for the new engagement ring and plans to pair it with a new wedding band in time for their anniversary celebration this June.
The couple’s 10th anniversary falls on June 18, 2025. Fans can likely expect to catch a glimpse of Arnold’s new ring by then. Last year, she marked their ninth anniversary with a heartfelt post and a series of nostalgic wedding photos on social media, calling Cusick her “best friend.”
Arnold, who joined Dancing with the Stars in 2013 and won Season 25 with partner Jordan Fisher, continues to balance a flourishing career in dance with motherhood and family life.
