Triniti Jensen sees life through the lens of a camera, whether she’s exploring a new venue, driving through her hometown of Aurora, or simply enjoying everyday moments. She’s been doing this for 14 years now, building a reputation as one of the best wedding photographers in Nebraska and beyond. The owner of Trin Jensen Photography, she’s celebrated for her authentic and timeless approach to wedding photography, capturing the raw emotions of couples on their most significant day.
Jensen’s ability to create compelling, heartfelt images has earned her multiple accolades, including Junebug Wedding Magazine’s “Best of the Best Engagement Photo” in 2017 and again this year. She’s also a finalist in Nebraska Wedding Day Magazine’s prestigious competition for both “Best Destination Wedding Photographer” and “Best Wedding Photographer.” The winners will be announced at a gala in June, but Jensen’s growing recognition speaks volumes about her talent.
For Jensen, being able to build her own schedule and be her own boss is a dream come true. “I’m so blessed to be able to do what I love,” she says, reflecting on her career as a self-employed photographer. “I know so many people that can’t say that, and it’s just such a blessing to me.”
Jensen’s approach to wedding photography is focused on creating timeless images that not only capture the day’s events but the feelings behind them. She believes that what makes a photo truly timeless is the emotion it evokes. “When you look at certain photos, you can see the era that they were taken in,” she explains. “But what’s really timeless is how you felt in those photos. That’s what’s important to capture.”
She adds that her job isn’t just about taking pictures, but about supporting the couple throughout their wedding day. “I want them to feel loved and supported no matter what happens on their big day,” Jensen shares. “I want them to look at their wedding photos later and feel all the emotions they felt in that moment.”
Adapting to the Day’s Needs
To ensure her couples get the best photos, Jensen has learned to think on her feet. While she prepares by scouting wedding venues ahead of time, the unpredictable nature of light—whether it’s sunny or cloudy—means she must adapt. “Sometimes you plan for a sunny day and then it’s cloudy, or vice versa. So I always have a Plan B ready,” she explains. Her flexibility allows her to shoot in any lighting condition, making sure the moments she captures are as beautiful as the couple’s day.
Evolving Trends in Wedding Photography
Wedding photography trends are always changing, and Jensen has her finger on the pulse of the industry. Recently, she’s embraced the resurgence of film photography and flash photography to create an editorial, high-fashion feel for her work. “Flash photography is coming back as a trend,” she says. “People are drawn to the nostalgic feel, and a direct flash on photos from the reception or portraits outside can give that editorial, almost Vogue-like aesthetic.”
One trend Jensen is particularly excited about is the rise of blurry photos, something that was once considered a mistake but is now intentionally captured for its sense of mystery. “Blurry photos tell the story in a different way, a more artistic and mysterious way. They’ve become trendy,” she explains, noting how things have evolved in just a few years.
A “Chameleon” Approach
Jensen’s background in human service counseling has proved helpful in her photography work. She describes her role as that of a “chameleon,” able to adapt to the energy of any situation. “If the energy is high and exciting, I want to join in. If there’s stress, I want to be the peaceful presence that assures the couple everything will be okay,” she shares. Her calming influence helps couples enjoy their day and focus on what truly matters—getting married.
Having grown her business over the years, Jensen now leads a team of five photographers under the name Trin Jensen & Co., enabling her to serve even more couples while maintaining the same high-quality experience. “I’ve been able to serve so many more couples with my team, and it’s been such a blessing,” she says. She personally shoots 15 to 18 weddings a year, while her team handles an additional 25.
Personal Life
Outside of photography, Jensen lives in Aurora with her husband, Tyler, and their two young children, daughter Haven and son Zealand, who are 6 and almost 2 years old. Balancing her thriving business and family life is no easy feat, but Jensen wouldn’t have it any other way.
With a strong track record of success and a unique approach to wedding photography, Triniti Jensen continues to turn heads in the industry, capturing moments that are as timeless as the love they represent.
