PHOENIX — While Arizona’s triple-digit June temperatures may not be ideal for wedding ceremonies, they are perfect for planning one — especially at the Arizona Wedding Show, a popular event designed to streamline the wedding preparation process for couples.
Returning on June 1 to the Phoenix Convention Center’s South Building B, the Arizona Wedding Show brings together hundreds of industry professionals to offer engaged couples everything they need to plan their big day. From bridal gowns to floral arrangements, from DJs to catering services, the event serves as a comprehensive one-day wedding marketplace.
Kim Horn, a veteran planner with 36 years of experience and one of only 75 master wedding planners globally, owns and operates the biannual show. Held each January and June, the Arizona Wedding Show has evolved under her leadership into a premier planning event, drawing thousands of attendees and offering a more efficient alternative to online searches and scattered vendor appointments.
“I market the show for couples — not just brides,” said Horn. “They’re making decisions together, and it’s more effective if both connect with the vendors. It saves time, money, and delays.”
Horn noted that 75% of attendees are now couples, rather than solo brides, reflecting a more collaborative planning approach. The inclusivity of the show, welcoming both same-sex and opposite-sex couples, also reinforces Horn’s commitment to serving all who are preparing to tie the knot.
The event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering visitors the chance to interact with professionals across virtually every wedding-related industry. Exhibitors include venues, fashion retailers for both men and women, photographers, bakers, caterers, DJs, florists, and more.
A central highlight is the high-energy fashion show, produced by Horn’s daughter Alexa, a doctoral student at Northern Arizona University. The show will feature two runway presentations at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., sponsored by the upcoming film “Bride Hard,” Legacy Bridal Boutique, and Celebrity Tux & Tails.
Tickets are priced at $12 online through May 31 and $15 on the day of the event.
This year’s giveaways add extra incentive: three bridal gowns provided by AW Bridal, and the coveted Ultimate Wedding Package, which offers significant savings. The first 50 couples to arrive will receive exclusive gifts, including a canvas bag filled with show specials and dry shampoo from Batiste.
“I’m announcing all the giveaways during the fashion shows — so you need to be present to win,” said Horn.
In addition to vendor booths and fashion showcases, the show features tasting stations with sweet and savory offerings from premier Arizona caterers, plus hands-on activities for a more interactive experience.
Although summer is traditionally the off-season for weddings in Arizona, the show is timely for couples targeting fall nuptials. Horn said demand for autumn ceremonies has soared, prompting venues to book events every day of the week—not just weekends.
“With inflation and rising travel costs, couples are cutting guest lists and rethinking priorities — just like during COVID,” Horn explained. “Every guest is a cost, from food and drinks to linens and seating.”
For couples willing to exchange vows during the summer heat, Horn pointed out that they can often secure prime dates at lower costs, as June through August tend to be less popular wedding months in Phoenix.
“If you want a Saturday in October or March, you’re going to pay for it,” Horn said. “But if you’re open to summer dates, there are definitely savings to be had.”
