The Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County will host a special event titled “Wedding Season — Nuptials Through Time” at 6:30 p.m. on June 5. The presentation will take place at the Historic Silas Clark Mansion, 621 Wayne Ave., and will feature authors Hilary Hauck and Kathleen Shoop.
Attendees will explore historical wedding traditions from 1850 to 1940 across various nationalities, accompanied by a display of vintage gowns, photos, and memorabilia. Books by Hauck, including “The Wedding Season,” will be available for purchase.
After the talk, guests can enjoy refreshments inspired by the southwestern Pennsylvania wedding cookie table tradition, along with a themed specialty drink called “Happily Ever After.”
This event is free and open to the public.
